# Manage your account with Pulumi

> Manage incident.io configuration as code from your Pulumi programs.

Our [Pulumi provider](https://www.pulumi.com/registry/packages/incident/) lets you manage incident.io configuration from a Pulumi program in TypeScript, Python, or Go. It's generated from our [Terraform provider](/admin/terraform), so it manages the same resources, with the same names and properties.

## Install

```bash theme={null}
# TypeScript
npm install @incident-io/pulumi

# Python
pip install pulumi-incident

# Go
go get github.com/incident-io/pulumi-incident/sdk/go/incident
```

## Configure

Create an API key in [**Settings → API keys**](https://app.incident.io/~/settings/api-keys) with permission to manage the resources you want to control, then set it in your stack config:

```bash theme={null}
pulumi config set --secret incident:apiKey <YOUR_API_KEY>
```

Or export it as `INCIDENT_API_KEY`.

## Example

This creates a severity:

```typescript theme={null}
import * as incident from '@incident-io/pulumi';

const trivial = new incident.Severity('trivial', {
  name: 'Trivial',
  description: 'Issues causing no impact.',
  rank: 1,
});
```

The [Pulumi Registry](https://www.pulumi.com/registry/packages/incident/) has the reference for every resource, with examples in all three languages.

## Import existing configuration

Bring configuration you've already set up in the dashboard under Pulumi with `pulumi import`, using the resource's ID from the dashboard URL or [the API](/api-reference/introduction):

```bash theme={null}
pulumi import incident:index/severity:Severity trivial 01ABC123DEF456GHI789JKL
```

Importing marks the resource as managed by code, which locks it in the dashboard, the same as a [Terraform-managed resource](/admin/terraform#editing-terraform-managed-resources-in-the-ui). To import without locking it, run `pulumi config set incident:markImportedResourcesAsManaged false` first.
